Heb 5:13-14 CSB Now everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced with the message about righteousness, because he is an infant. (14) But solid food is for the mature—for those whose senses have been trained to distinguish between good and evil. It is unsatisfactory to remain a baby in spiritual matters. This is true because a spiritual infant, living on milk… is inexperienced with the teaching about righteousness. It is not so much that a spiritual “infant” lacks information – though at first he obviously does – but rather that he has not yet learned to put “the teaching about righteousness” to effective use. Rom 15:4 CSB For whatever was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that we may have hope through endurance and through the encouragement from the Scriptures. This quotation from the Psalms reminds us that the OT Scriptures were written for our learning. While they were not written directly to us, they contain invaluable lessons for us. As we encounter problems, conflicts, tribulations, and troubles, the Scriptures teach us to be steadfast, and they impart comfort. Thus, instead of sinking under the waves, we are sustained by the hope that the Lord will see us through.

Psa 119:43-45 Never take the word of truth from my mouth, for I hope in your judgments. (44) I will always obey your instruction, forever and ever. (45) I will walk freely in an open place because I study your precepts. May we never be afraid or ashamed to speak the word of truth. If we have hoped in God’s ordinances, He will provide continuing opportunities to witness for Him. Our response to His love and grace should be an inflexible resolve to keep His Word as long as we live. “How can I do less than give Him my best and live for Him completely after all He’s done for me?” Those who are set free by the Son of God are free indeed. The world thinks of the Christian life as a system of bondage. But those who seek His precepts are the ones who enjoy perfect liberty.

Deu 32:46-47 he said to them, “Take to heart all these words I am giving as a warning to you today, so that you may command your children to follow all the words of this law carefully. (47) For they are not meaningless words to you but they are your life, and by them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.” After reciting all the words of the song, Moses told the people to consider seriously (take to heart) the words of the song. If they would meditate on the certainty and severity of the judgment that the Lord would send on them for their apostasy, the Song of Moses could serve as a powerful deterrent to future rebellion. Hos 14:8b I am [God is] like a green cypress tree; Your fruit is found in Me. Returning to God and remaining in fellowship with Him is to claim His promises for future grace. Repentance must be followed by restoration. We need to know that God has accepted our broken hearts and now wants to give us a new life. Jesus is our Tree (Vine), we are His branches, apart from Him we can do nothing. It is our purpose to bear His fruits for Him. He is the source of all good works.
