Psa 115:3-8  Our God is in heaven and does whatever he pleases.  (4)  Their idols are silver and gold, made by human hands.  (5)  They have mouths but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see.  (6)  They have ears but cannot hear, noses, but cannot smell.  (7)  They have hands but cannot feel, feet, but cannot walk. Mat 6:24  “No one can serve two masters, since either he will hate one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. The impossibility of living for God and for money is stated here in terms of masters and slaves. No one can serve two masters. One will inevitably take precedence in his loyalty and obedience. So it is with God and mammon. They present rival claims and a choice must be made. It is not money in itself which is spoken of, but the love of money. Money might be used in the service of the Lord in a variety of ways where only good would result. But here it is the inordinate desire for money that leads to sin and shame. One particular evil of the love of money is a wandering from the Christian faith. In their mad striving after wealth, men neglect spiritual things, and it becomes difficult to tell whether they were ever really saved at all.

John 3:19  This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. We love the darkness so that we can keep on doing what we want without exposure. In this condition, the mind becomes a factory of idols — a fountain of half-truths and lies — anything to protect the evil desires of the heart from exposure and destruction. Our hearts are deceitful. Examine our selves daily
