Heb 2:1 For this reason, we must pay attention all the more to what we have heard, so that we will not drift away. Paul pauses to inject the first of several solemn warnings that are found in the Epistle. This is a warning against drifting away from the message of the gospel. Because of the greatness of the Giver and because of the greatness of His gift, those who hear the gospel must give more serious attention to it. There is always the danger of drifting away from the Person and slipping back into a religion of pictures. This means drifting into apostasy—the sin for which there is no repentance.

Joh 17:24  “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, so that they will see my glory, which you have given me because you loved me before the world’s foundation. The communion and fellowship which disciples have with Jesus in this life will increase in eternity. The goal of a believer’s salvation is future glorification which includes being with Jesus. Jesus’ last testament and will is that His disciples enter into (see) His glory. This glory was what Jesus had from the Father and would again have. His testament was sealed by His death and resurrection. Since His will is identical to the Father’s, it will certainly come to pass.

Rom 8:17  Now if we are children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. The prerequisite of living a life for God as His children in His presence involves the death of Christ to be heir of the inheritance in the Kingdom of God. We are co-heir with Christ’s inheritance if we suffer with Him and hence rise up with Him on His return. As God-man, Lord Jesus is the mediator, who reconciles us to God. His death appeases God’s wrath and fixes our natural enmity towards God. His work on the Cross brings about peace with God, allowing God to be glorified, as well as, restoring the goodness, beauty, order and harmony of God’s creation.

Psa 91:1-2 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. (2) I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Life is perplexing. While a triumphant life is assured ensuing from God’s promises to guard and guide us through the evils of this life, it is also troubling at the same time due to the invariable presence of suffering and uncertainties. The fact that our victory in this world is so partial forces us to look more deeply at Psalm 91. God’s purpose for giving us both prosperity and adversity is in order that we fear Him. It is only in Christ where we find true rest in perfect peace and inner strength. “Fear of the Lord” denotes true worship, trusting and obeying God’s Will and humble service to magnify His…
