Rom 6:11  In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. The sharing of the resurrection life of Christ begins at the moment of regeneration, but it will continue as a believer shares eternity with the Lord. Again as a result we know intuitively, perceiving a self-evident truth. Having experienced physical death once and having been removed from its realm by resurrection life, Jesus cannot die again. In resurrection Jesus Christ was victorious over death and death no longer has mastery over Him as it does over all other human beings.

Joh 6:27  Don’t work for the food that perishes but for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set his seal of approval on him.” When Jesus said, Do not work for food that spoils, He was not condoning laziness. Rather He was saying that people should expend their efforts for what will last forever. “Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God”. Physical food is short-lived but spiritual food leads to eternal life. The Son of Man (who has access to heaven) will give people this spiritual food, which is ultimately Christ Himself. God the Father Himself authenticated Jesus’ claim that He is true heavenly “food.”

Joh 10:10  A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance. The thief, that is, a false shepherd, cares only about feeding himself, not building up the flock. He steals sheep in order to kill them, thus destroying part of the flock. But Christ has come to benefit the sheep. He gives life which is not constricted but overflowing. The thief takes life; Christ gives it to the full

Tit 2:11-12  For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.  (12)  It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, When fully understood, it is the gospel of the grace of God which teaches Christians how to live. This grace has brought salvation to all men, i.e., it is universally available, but only the chosen ones would respond effectively leading to eternal life. The message of God’s grace, when its full implications are seen, leads Christians, negatively, to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and positively, to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present Age.

1Ti 6:12  Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. Fight the good fight is the language of athletic contests. Timothy was to give his best effort to this most worthwhile of struggles, the struggle to further the faith. This would involve the complete appropriation  at all times of the fact that he possessed eternal life. No way this suggests that Timothy could gain eternal life by his own efforts. To Paul, Christ’s life is the possession of each Christian, not only throughout eternity, but now. It is this new life in Christ to which every Christian is called and which Christians confess by baptism and by word. Timothy’s good confession in the presence of many witnesses could refer to his ordination but more likely speaks of his…

Gal 6:7-8  Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.  (8)  Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Although it is true in a general sense that we reap whatever we sow, it follows an exhortation on Christian giving. Viewed in that light, we see that sowing to the flesh means spending one’s money on oneself, one’s own pleasures and comforts. Sowing to the Spirit is using one’s money for the furtherance of God’s interests. Those who do the former reap a harvest of disappointment and loss right here on earth because they learn as they grow older that the flesh they lived to please is decaying and dying. Then in the age to come they lose eternal rewards. Those who sow to the Spirit will…

Hos 14:8b  I am [God is] like a green cypress tree; Your fruit is found in Me. Returning to God and remaining in fellowship with Him is to claim His promises for future grace. Repentance must be followed by restoration. We need to know that God has accepted our broken hearts and now wants to give us a new life. Jesus is our Tree (Vine), we are His branches, apart from Him we can do nothing. It is our purpose to bear His fruits for Him. He is the source of all good works.

John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. In Christ, we live an abiding life, whereby the Holy Spirit dwells in us, and we in Him, by grace through faith and obedience in the Word of God In Christ, there no longer exists an impediment to entering the presence of God if one goes through Jesus Christ. His flesh, slain and risen, becomes the way or entrance into the Most Holy Place. In Christ. the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Col_2:8  See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ. To live, as we do, in a highly sophisticated, technological society brings with it many benefits and animal comforts. It is not surprising, therefore, that all sorts of occult philosophies and religions are gaining ground in society. Man, who is made in the image of God, must have a spiritual explanation for his own existence. Biblical faith affirms that God has revealed all that is necessary to bring us into a living relationship with Himself and to enable us to travel through this world into His presence.
