Gen 50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. Joseph’s commitment of faith to the Lord had been obvious throughout his life and his words at this point were reminiscent of his response to those who thought he could interpret their dreams. He had told them then as he repeated now, “Don’t look to me. Look to Him.” No one who knew Joseph could ever fail to recognize that he did not trust his own abilities and neither did he hold himself in unrealistically high regard. He knew from whence his strength came and he knew in whom he alone was secure.
